This easygoing cheddar gets its name from local legend Farmer Fred. If you’ve visited our historic cheese factory, you may have seen Fred (clad in overalls and mutton chops) haying the fields or giving sheep-shearing demonstrations. With over 55 years of experience, our resident farm educator really knows his stuff–including his favorite cheese. After 60 days of aging, this raw milk cheddar - which was formerly known as East Meadow - is buttery and meltable, with notes of fresh pasture and sweet cream.
Based in Plymouth, VT, Plymouth Artisan Cheese was founded in 1890 by Colonel John Coolidge, father of President Calvin Coolidge. Plymouth is the second oldest cheese factory in the United States, and a Vermont state historic site.
These delicious cheeses come in 8 oz waxed blocks. Try them all!
